In nor=normal(i),
it would save me lots of time if the output nor[2][1]
was interreduced before norid was computed
(or at least to have the numerators reduced by the input ideal i and the denominator).

But I can no longer read through the convoluted code to find where this should be done.

[This should also improve the presentation in general.]
