Number of Branches via Primary Decomposition
Practical Limitations:
  • Primary decomposition relies on global lexicographical orderings (globally irreducible curve might be analytically reducible).
  • Computations are performed over the rationals, not over the complex numbers (irreducible curve over the rationals might be reducible over the complex numbers).
Consequence: The number of branches might be higher than the number of components returned by primary decomposition.

Check plausibility of the result.
<-- Branches of an isolated space curve singularity
<-- computed via Primary Decomposition
--> computed via Normalization
--> computed via Factorizing Gröbner
